Biography
dr. Hercsik Alexandra was born on 29 March 1982 in Budapest. After completing secondary school, she was admitted to the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences at Károli Gáspár Reformed University in 2000, graduating cum laude in 2005. Her thesis, written under the supervision of Professor Endre Bócz, examined juvenile delinquency at the intersection of criminal law and sociology. During her studies, her main areas of interest were criminology, criminal enforcement, and labour and financial law.
After graduation she worked as a legal officer at Duna Audit Kft., an insolvency firm, gaining practical experience in bankruptcy and liquidation law.
She then joined the law firm of Dr. Szűcs Viktor Géza as a trainee lawyer, handling general legal matters — including real estate transactions, company formation and modification — alongside typical trainee duties such as drafting legal documents and court representation. The firm had a particular specialisation in tax law issues, which led her to begin advanced tax law studies at the Institute for Continuing Legal Education at Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE) in 2007. She obtained her specialist qualification in 2009, with a thesis comparing the domestic and international regulation of controlled foreign companies (offshore entities).
In 2008 she worked for Indotek Zrt., a real estate investment company, handling legal matters related to asset management of project companies, bank financing and property transactions.
Subsequently, she served as a tax lawyer at the Dunakeszi Mayor’s Office, gaining insight into the public administration side of law. Her responsibilities included collecting tax arrears, improving related procedures, drafting internal governance policies and participating in local regulation.
In 2010 she enrolled in a tax advisory vocational training programme at Penta Unió Zrt. to further deepen her expertise in tax law.
From June 2011 she worked at the Corporate Audit Department of the National Tax and Customs Administration (NAV), where she gained comprehensive practical knowledge in tax audit methodology that is equally applicable in the private sector.
Dr. Hercsik Alexandra Law Office was established on 18 June 2012, with the goal of representing her clients’ interests with full dedication and the highest level of professionalism through the practice of law.
